*Striking Black 14.2hh Welsh D x TB 13yo*

Foxwoods Johny, known as Johny is a registered part bred welsh, out of a thoroughbred mare by Llanveynoe Henry (Welsh D). Johny is a very handsome boy, well put together, black with two white socks. His age is with extremely low milage and although he was started correctly, he has had a lot of years off only recently coming back into work. He is only for sale as owners have no interest in him and he is too talented to do nothing. He has got me back on a horse and going after having a baby and I have had loads of fun on him but I have a youngster needing breaking and don’t have the time for him, my youngster a baby and a full time job.

Johny is good to handle, catch, good to clip, shoe, load dentist etc. Johny has lived out all winter well with hay top ups and this has suited him, getting to know him he is the type of horse that you can easily feed up or down depending on the jockey, haylage gives him that extra umph if needed which is handy if you have different jockeys so long as its monitored and understood.

I have hacked him out alone and in company on roads, forest tracks, beach rides etc and he is brilliant, he is literally bomb proof on the road through the village, tractors buses, bonfires, you name we’ve seen it. Good alone and with others, he can be a little nappy but I have never felt unsafe and I am very sure it’s more of a threat than anything and once asked firmly to go again has done with no problems and is therefore not for a complete novice. I have done various clinics with him and he has been great, in both indoor arenas and outside, has a great little pop and will definitely jump bigger with a smaller jockey ( I am definitely too big for him). We have seen show jumps and XC and doing some pole clinics, jumping courses of approximately 80cm. Johny is fully vaccinated, fit and ready to go and needs a good empathetic home so he can be loved and someone’s priority. Would suit and competent child wanting to step up or a small adult or a mother daughter.
