A very sad sale of a special little horse

15.2hh rising 6yo ISH (warmblood X ID)

- He is good to do in all ways, turns out with mares and gelding, stables well, is mannerly and has no vices

- He is good to hack alone and in company, good in traffic, seeing all sorts of farm traffic and animals et. and generally unfazed by things out hacking.

- He works in a soft frame and has 3 active paces, has a soft mouth and has only ever been ridden in a snaffle, would do a nice dressage test.

- He is a pleasure to take out and about. Has been SJ schooling/XC schooling/fun rides/clinics and hunted this season.

- He’s a great hunter. He has hunted this season with the Ross Harriers and the Ledbury. Will go first or last, do gates, stand on point and good with hounds, happy to go anywhere in the field, in time I think he would happily nanny ponies. He has crossed all types of country jumping hedges, rails, walls and ditches and isn’t strong and is a happy, intelligent, confident little horse.

- He is not a novice ride. If you are a confident, balanced rider he is straightforward and a pleasure, if you are unbalanced or nervous he won’t be suitable as is forward going and likes to use his brain, so needs a rider who can channel this. He’s a clever, curious little horse, which means he’s more inclined to investigate a flapping tarpaulin than spook at it, but he will also express his opinion which I love, but is not everyone’s cup of tea.

- He’s not an experienced competition horse. He has been out, seen a bit of everything but hasn’t competed, and is low mileage for his age due to me having 2 children in the last 3 years. But he is fit and ready to start competing this season and would probably progress fairly quickly

- Not suitable for showing, has a cosmetic scar near one eye that doesn’t affect him

Looking for a loving long term home, I’ve owned him since he was a 2 yo, so full history is known and have produced him with his future in mind, he’s had a good all round education and but hasn’t been overworked. If I had more time and fewer children he would be staying with me as he puts a smile on my face and I love having him around.
