The utmost care has been taken to ensure that Buttercup is light, responsive, and safe to handle by both adults and children alike. Because of her amazing nature, we would love her to go to a home where she can truly help the people she meets. She has so much to give, in spite of the fact that she can't be ridden.
She would make a plan wonderful therapy pony or would excel in any groundwork only home.
She's completed all of her groundwork training and is fantastic to work with on the ground, circling, moving over obstacles and more. She leads, stops, and backs up with ease, from both a signal and steady pressure. She loves to be groomed and massaged and is very trusting of people in her personal space.
She is the sweetest girl with the gentlest, kindest nature and such a curious personality. Our initial plan was to retrain and rehabilitate her as a children's riding pony, but we have since discovered that she has a neurological issue, affecting the co-ordination of her hind end, which means that she can't be ridden.
She can sometimes be very slightly unco-ordinated in the movement of her back legs but apart from that you would not know that she has a problem. The only time the problem has affected her was during the process of backing her. With vets advice, we made the decision that she would be much better as a companion or groundwork-only pony.
She has so much to give, in spite of the fact that she can't be ridden. She's very easy to manage, good to handle, keeps a good weight easily and is easy for all visiting professionals such as the trimmer, dentists etc.

Buttercup has had all important treatments and checks - her teeth have been checked by a qualified dentist, her feet have been trimmed by an equine podiatrist, she has had a series of chiropractic treatments and she’s up to date with her worming and vaccinations.
