About our business
Welcome to our breeding program, where we specialize in producing high-quality foals with a wide range of coat colors and patterns. Our focus is on breeding all-round foals that excel in various disciplines. We understand the importance of conformation, and we choose mares and stallions with balanced proportions and correct movement to ensure the production of structurally sound and athletic foals. Temperament is another key aspect of our breeding program. We strive to produce foals that are not only physically capable but also a pleasure to handle and train. If you're particularly interested in dilutes ( palominos, duns, smokey blacks and cremellos), colored and spotted foals, then hopefully we will have something to suit. Your foal's well-being is our top priority. Whether you're seeking a foal for the show ring, the performance arena, or simply a cherished friend we invite you to discover the foals we have to offer. The size range is mostly between 15hh and 16.1hh with a few either side. Nearly all the mares are homebred and all the mares have varying degrees of cob mostly Welsh D in their breeding so although not heavy at all, their offspring have good bone often meaning that any horse bred by us will feel and look that bit bigger. The stallions we are running at the moment are GFS Supanova ( Goose) a 16.2hh cremello trakhener/akhal teke and Singing Gypsy Boy a 15.3hh trakhener x cob. Both these stallions have long and excellent competition lines. The aim is to cross the successful warmblood breeding with the down to earth lightweight cob type mares to get allround types that are capable of some good standard competing if desired whilst remaining affordable to all. As we have gone along the homebred mares are becoming more warmblood so each foal is to be judged on it's own merits, some will have more cob than others. It is of course a matter of personal preference for each new owner although I always try to help and guide a suitable match between foal and prospective owner. I bought two lovely cremello colt foals 18 months ago, one Welsh D from Tresoyra Stud and one warmblood from the RB stud. This was done with the aim of maintaining that balance of cob and warmblood in the breeding plan. Hopefully by in the future mixing the breeding between the three cremellos we should have some really outstanding diluted, quite possibly cremello offspring. These young boys are now running with their first mares so we will have to wait and see what arrives next spring! Singing Gypsy Boy is still a huge part of Penpont Ponies and he never fails to deliver quality coloureds, solids and spotted from the Appaloosa X mares.
