Stunning Pure Irish Draught youngster with extensive ground work, lightly backed

Ruby is an absolute sweetheart of a horse and VERY reluctantly offered for sale.

I purchased Ruby direct from her breeder in Ireland as a weanling, she’s been well handled from day one and has had a long, slow and very thorough introduction to being worked and ridden, I’ve played all manner of little games with her in the school just to introduce her to new and interesting things, from tarpaulin to water trays to tractors, anything I could think of. As a result Ruby is a very calm and easy youngster used to being presented with lots of random crap!

Education wise Ruby has been extensively lead out off another horse in all manner of traffic, not fazed by even the biggest tractors and lorries squeezing past on narrow country lanes. She has been long reined in full harness and tack, with plenty of changing the pace and weaving around cones and barrels in the school, she is very responsive to voice commands. Ruby has been lightly backed and ridden around the school at a walk, she’s more than ready to do more.

Ruby has been out to a few small local shows in hand to get her out and experience different environments, she’s behaved impeccably every time and took it all in her stride, bonus that she always placed well as well! She’s travelled in the trailer both by herself and with company without issue, loads perfectly.

Unfortunately, due to increasing work commitments I’m finding I simply haven’t got the time to carry on her work, as a result I’ve had to make the heart-breaking decision to sell Ruby. At the moment she’s being wasted in the field right at the time when she’s ready to really move on with her education.

Ruby has impeccable ground manners and will stand all day to be groomed, bathed, clipped, plaited, etc. She just loves the attention. No vices. She’s prefect for the farrier, dentist and vet. She’s currently barefoot, she’s got lovely solid feet!

Used to livestock and has shared a field with both pigs and sheep that have NO concept of personal space. Also used to dogs, the sort of dogs that think licking hoof oil off horse feet is a good idea. Familiar with and unbothered by farm machinery.
